Motorway Tolls Have Debit/ Credit card ready or coins for the buckets. Most booths are not manned! 1st Toll have approx 3 Euros ready- 2nd Toll ,collect ticket only - 3rd Toll have approx 5 Euros ready. Make sure your credit card works or have plenty of coins ready to insert into machine or throw into bucket. It can be hair raising if anything goes wrong with a long line of impatient drivers behind you.Most booths are not manned and it is well worth having a load of coins ready. Nice Airport has some change machines at the baggage collection area.
Traffic
At peak season, particularly August and weekends, it is worth passing the St Tropez exit off the A8 motorway. Take the following exit and follow the signs to St Tropez from there. Otherwise, the A roads are at a crawl and it can take an hour to do a few miles.
